The greatest second pharaonic building in the world after Pentagon: romanian Parliament in Bucharest

The unthinkable grand cost of this Parliament wass $3.1 billions since from the beggining. The construction of this great building has started in June 25, 1984 and its end building has been in 1997. With more than 1000 rooms, the maintanence in one year is more than $2 milions.

Have twelve  floors and in the comunist period it has been called the House of the People (inspired name for democratic nations) or Republic House of people. For the construction of this amazing building needed more than 700 architects and the chief architect was Anca Petrescu, known as the smartest architect of Romania at that time.

The romanian Parliament has 330 000 square meters and more 2.5 milion cube meters in use. It is considered by the World Academy Records the greatest second building in the world after Pentagon and the third greatest bigest building after space rocket assembling building of Cape Canaveral from Florida.


The Parliament is surounded by United Nations Boulevard (Bulevardul Natiunile Unite) at north, by Libertatii boulevard (Bulevardul Libertatii) at east, by Izvor River Park by west and by 13 Septembrie Way (Calea 13 Septembrie) at south.


Pharaonic number of materials to built:
- 1 000 000 cube meters of marble;
- 5 500 tones of cement;
- 7 000 tones of steel;
- 2 000 000 of sand;
- 1 000 tones of basalt;
- 900 000 cube meters of wood essents;
- 3 500 tones of crystal;
- 200 000 cube meters of glass;
- 2 800 chandeliers;
- 220 000 square meters of carpets;
- 3 500 square meters of different types of leather.

The massive dimensions of the Parliament:
- length 270 meters;
- width 245 meters;
- height 86 meters
- depth 92 meters (below ground level);
- ground surface built 66 000 square meters.

The main halls and salons of Bucharest Parliament are named after the fall of comunist regim in 1989 by the historical events of United romanian Principalities and by romanian historical leaders known at a international level.
